Greetings From Your Friendly Hair Braider
If you are reading these words, hello. I'm Shondrika. I sometimes go by Drika. I'm born, raised, and currently reside in Houston, a city that I love from the bottom of my heart. Here's a little more about me.
I have two degrees. One with three minors, and another in publishing and writer (aka the cool degree.) However, I spend my days at Starbucks as a barista. I've learned a ton from making coffee drinks for the masses. After I moved back home from graduate school, I saw that my barista income would not accommodate for letting someone else do my hair. So I learned to do it myself. I have a braiding journey on Facebook and Instagram if you want to check that out. I had put extensions in my hair before, but summer 2015 was the first time that it came off like someone else did my hair. I'm a perfectionist like that.
Whenever I was willing and able, I started doing more styles, and a year later, more colors. I would get compliments from strangers, and when I tell them I did my own hair, they're usually pretty impressed. If it was a woman who may be interested in getting the style, I just left it there. No offering to work my magic on another hopeful person. Those days are now over.
As you can see, I'm not your typical hair braider. I have other creative talents that I like to pour into as well, and I would like to dig into those talents, as well as places, people, and things I encounter in Houston and beyond. I will also be sharing important information on here, including prices, styles offers, announcements, and any changes that come my way. I'm offering a few styles I'm confident in right now, but as I learn more styles, I will offer those too when the time is right.
